Please support AB 12
Help make Assembly Bill 12, the California Fostering Connections to Success Act.
AB 12 uses federal funding to help bridge the gap for foster children from ages 18 to 21. By providing support at this critical stage in a child's life, we are able to prevent homelessness and incarceration for youth who age out of the foster care system when they reach legal age.
Studies have demonstrated the proven success of programs that provide services to foster youth as they age out of the state system, greatly increasing the odds that they graduate from high school, enroll in college, and avoid incarceration.
AB 12 gives the most vulnerable children in California hope for a better future, one in which they can become productive and contributing members of society. For these reasons, I urge you to support AB 12 by sending a letter to the Governor. We need the support of constituents like you more than ever to get this landmark piece of legislation passed.
