SACRAMENTO – With several key provisions of the California Homeowner’s Bill of Rights lapsing on Jan. 1, Sen. Jim Beall, (D-San Jose), quickly introduced legislation today to renew them, continuing important mortgage and foreclosure protections that borrowers have relied on to save their homes.

“Senate Bill 818 will restore the rights, the safeguards, which have helped thousands of people keep their homes,’’ said Beall, who serves as the chairman of the Transportation and Housing Committee. “We do not want people to lose these rights, which had existed for the past five years.

SACRAMENTO – A proposal allowing qualified peer providers – people who have lived experience as clients, family members, or caretakers of individuals recovering from mental illness or addiction – to be certified by the state to deliver services to patients with such disorders was introduced today by Sen. SACRAMENTO – For many foster care youth, alone and without the support of parents or family members, affording the cost of college can be insurmountable. To increase their college enrollment, achievement, and graduation rates, Sen. Jim Beall, D-San Jose, today introduced Senate Bill 940, legislation that expands foster youths’ access to financial aid by extending their Cal Grant eligibility.
