I am excited to announce an upcoming Student Debt Workshop Webinar hosted in partnership between my office and the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation taking place next Tuesday, October 11th at 12:00 pm via Zoom.
I will be hosting my next virtual Town Hall on Thursday, September 15th at 6:00pm with a focus on “Keeping Our Neighborhoods Clean Together”.
Join me and representatives from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services-Beautify SJ, and Santa Clara County Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA) for a discussion on the several governmental resources and services available to communities in ensuring our neighborhoods and streets stay clean.

Dear Neighbors, Senator Dave Cortese is excited to announce his 19th Annual Sacramento Bus Trip for Education will return to an in-person format this year!
For nearly two decades, following the May Revision of the State Budget each year, the Bus Trip has successfully provided groups of education advocates, students and community members here in Senate District 15 the opportunity to travel to the State Capitol to meet directly with State Officials and Legislators, learn about current legislation and discuss education as a state budget priority.
Climate change is already affecting our lives and it is so vital that we prepare our next generation of leaders to understand and confront this existential threat. In honor of Earth Month, Senator Dave Cortese will be highlighting some of the many emerging career pathways around environmental stewardship, including state apprenticeship programs.
Senator Cortese will be hosting his next virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:00pm with a focus on neighborhood safety across San José. Join me and representatives from the San Jose Police Department, the Santa Clara County Sherriff’s Office, and California Highway Patrol to get updates regarding public safety tips and trends in the community.
Worried about having to take on student loans? California offers grants to eligible students to help them pay for college! And no, you don’t have to pay grants back.
In anticipation of the state financial aid priority deadline of March 2nd, the California Student Aid Commission and Senator Dave Cortese invite prospective college students and their families to a "Cash for College" Town Hall on Thursday February 10th at 5:00pm to learn about the financial aid options available to you.
