Senator Dave Cortese (D-Silicon Valley) made the following statement after the California Senate passed AB 2179 which extends portions of the COVID-19 Rental Housing Recovery Act to provide court eviction protections until June 30 to tenants with a pending rental assistance application submitted by March 31 and provide eviction protections for anyone who has a pending application by March 31:
Senator Dave Cortese’s (D-Silicon Valley) bill, SB 1297, cleared its first hurdle today after passing the California Senate Environmental Quality Committee. SB 1297 will ensure California takes a leadership role in advancing climate restoration by taking steps to minimize embodied carbon and maximize carbon sequestration in the built environment.
SB 1100 authored by Senator Cortese (D-Silicon Valley) along with principal co-author Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) is moving forward after passing the Senate Governance and Finance Committee.
Today, Senator Dave Cortese (D-Silicon Valley) introduced SCR 80 on the Senate Floor to celebrate and recognize Visual and Performing Arts Education Month in California. SCR 80 passed with no opposition in the State Senate.
