My Constitutional Fix to Create Affordable Housing
A decades-old constitutional rule is stopping us from building hundreds of thousands of much-needed affordable housing units in California. But we have a chance to fix this!
I have authored SB 750, The California Housing Finance & Credit Act (CAHFCA), which will ask voters to amend the California Constitution so that the state can use its own credit - not our General Fund - to guarantee loans and municipal bonds for affordable housing, both for rent and for sale.
