Senator Cortese Communications: Honoring Our Fallen Heroes on Memorial Day

SD15 Memorial Day

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Memorial Day is a time to reflect and remember our military servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives for our democracy and liberty. This Monday, May 29, I’m joining service members in honoring fallen and missing military heroes at Oakhill Funeral Home and Memorial Park. The event is hosted by Dignity Memorial and the Memorial Day Committee of Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

The event features:

  • Master of Ceremonies – Major Shannon Potts, United States Marine Corps
  • Keynote Address — CWO3 (Gunner) Angelo Pasciuti, a highly decorated Special Forces Warrior with multiple combat deployments
  • National Anthem performed by Captain Kelsey Casey of San Francisco, CA., Marine Corps fighter pilot
  • Ceremonial music by the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West
  • 21 Gun Salute by the Marines of the 23rd Marine Regiment
  • A Color Guard by the Marines of Recruiting Station San Francisco
  • A flyover by the 129th Air Rescue Wing
  • An authentic reenactment of a WWII trench with actors in period uniforms and historic military vehicles
  • A display of classic American cars.

Please contact my office with any questions at Senator.Cortese@sen.ca.gov.
