Press Conference - Senator Cortese, Consulate General of India and More Join Largest India Independence Day Celebrations in Bay Area
WHAT: In association with the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, the Association of Indo Americans and “Bolly 92.3 FM” join community leaders such as State Senator Dave Cortese and Santa Clara County Supervisor Cindy Chavez for a day of celebrations in honor of 75 years of India’s Independence. Independence Day in India is a national holiday celebrated every year on August 15th. The day-long festivities (spanning from 11:00am – 7:00pm) will include a speaking program that begins at 5:00pm.
Over 38 organizations of Indian origin in the Bay Area representing various States and Languages of India are participating in this event – the largest Indian Independence Day celebration in the Bay Area.
WHEN: Saturday, August 13th from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, Media are invited to attend the Independence Day parade, flag raising, and speaking program beginning at 5:00pm
