Thank you for a great Picnic by the Lake!
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Let me express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and volunteered at the Picnic by the Lake Multicultural Festival and Resource Fair. Your presence made for an incredible day filled with family-friendly joy and celebration. We couldn't have asked for a better community gathering, and I am truly thankful for your support. For those who weren’t able to join us this time, I want to extend a warm invitation to join us for next year’s event. Picnic by the Lake is an awesome, all-free celebration of our vibrant and diverse community.

That’s me speaking to Marianne Ezell, president of the Rotary Club of San José East/Evergreen, our event co-host along with our other co-host, the Santa Clara County Department of Parks and Recreation.
Our Santa Clara County Firefighters Local 1165 grilled up over 2,250 beef and veggie burgers for all our guests. They were joined by Silicon Valley Career Technical Education Fire Science Academy student volunteers. Thanks team!
We had over 80 State, County, City and nonprofit resource booths offering great community support and interactive displays, including The Tech Interactive and Reading Partners.
Also grateful to Santa Clara Valley Healthcare for providing and administering over 174 flu shots to community members, including my own! Special shout out to the County of Santa Clara Office of Emergency Management for providing and running out of its 700 emergency preparedness kits within the first hour of the event!
We also had over seven performance musical acts including MiFaSol Band, El Grito de la Cultura Academy, Folklorico Nacional Mexicano, Viet Steps, Pilipino Association of Workers and Immigrants (PAWIS), Kaisahan of San Jose, and Kuumba. We extend a special thank you to DJ Bob Nguyen for keeping the energy alive and the rhythm flowing.
I’d also like to recognize the work of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol and Park Rangers who kept us safe throughout the day. Finally, a Big Thank You to all of our sponsors who helped build Picnic by the Lake into our community’s new wonderful tradition:
