Gilroy’s Carry the Vision Honored by the State Senate As District 15’s Nonprofit of the Year
SACRAMENTO - The California Senate today honored the Gilroy-based, county-wide organization “Carry the Vision” as District 15’s Nonprofit of the Year. The organization was celebrated today at the annual luncheon in Sacramento for all the nonprofits chosen by each Senate District in the state.
“I chose Carry the Vision because the program helps people who were formerly incarcerated heal through a variety of programs aimed at creating lasting positive changes. And it has been quite effective,” said Senator Dave Cortese who represents the city of Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Jose.
The weekly program practices empowering individuals and communities through support groups and shared experiences. It creates a safe space where people can share their experiences, develop their skills, and build relationships.
Carry The Vision's Resource Navigation program provides case management for formerly justice-involved individuals, families, and caregivers impacted by the criminal justice system, offering navigation support and community resource access.
