Senator Cortese’s Statement on Supplemental Paid Sick Leave Advancing

Senator Dave Cortese (D-Silicon Valley), who serves as Chair of the Senate Labor, Public Employment and Retirement Committee, made the following statement regarding supplemental paid sick leave measures passing both houses of the California Legislature today:

“I am proud of my colleagues for today moving forward paid sick leave policies to protect workers and businesses impacted by COVID-19. This is simply a policy that will prevent further destruction of our economy and working families. As California Senate Labor Chair, I am committed to working with my colleagues to keep workers safe, allow parents to care for their children, and to minimize the damage our business community faces as well as our overall economy.”
