Dear Neighbors, Senator Dave Cortese is excited to announce his 19th Annual Sacramento Bus Trip for Education will return to an in-person format this year!

For nearly two decades, following the May Revision of the State Budget each year, the Bus Trip has successfully provided groups of education advocates, students and community members here in Senate District 15 the opportunity to travel to the State Capitol to meet directly with State Officials and Legislators, learn about current legislation and discuss education as a state budget priority.

Climate change is already affecting our lives and it is so vital that we prepare our next generation of leaders to understand and confront this existential threat. In honor of Earth Month, Senator Dave Cortese will be highlighting some of the many emerging career pathways around environmental stewardship, including state apprenticeship programs. 

Senator Cortese will be hosting his next virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:00pm with a focus on neighborhood safety across San José. Join me and representatives from the San Jose Police Department, the Santa Clara County Sherriff’s Office, and California Highway Patrol to get updates regarding public safety tips and trends in the community.

In anticipation of the state financial aid priority deadline of March 2nd, the California Student Aid Commission and Senator Dave Cortese invite prospective college students and their families to a "Cash for College" Town Hall on Thursday February 10^th at 5:00pm to learn about the financial aid options available to you.

Join Senator Cortese’s Town Hall about ensuring socioemotional wellness and mental health for students on Thursday, February 17th at 6:00pm. Senator Cortese will be joining NAMI (The National Alliance for Mental Health) Santa Clara County for an informative “Ending the Silence” presentation and Q&A discussion rooted in hope as well as student and family empowerment.
